We all know that many Americans, especially Republicans do not really know very much about history (or economics, or science, or geography or … well …). Republicans do love call in shows though, and that may save them. Comic and actor Azie Mira Dungey who once worked at the Mount Vernon historical site as a historical re-enactor has created “Ask a Slave” which, she claims, is based on actual experiences and questions she was asked in her role as a colonial slave. Hopefully this will provide some perspective to those who romanticize that era and/or attempt to deify it’s leaders.
