This great little video takes a look at plant communication, at what plants talk about and at how they do it. We frequently forget, vegans especially, that plants are living organisms that evolved on this planet. They are, in fact, much older than humans or even mammals and have had a very long time to refine their skills.
Although we don’t have all the answers (plants can communicate with plants, but not very effectively with us) it appears that chemistry, rather than sound waves, makes up the bulk of their communication.
