Open Culture is a great resource for free online courses. They currently have listings for 900 free online courses from top universities and a few hundred free, or very low cost, online courses offering certificates.
Today might be their best day yet though – Dan Coleman reports that a virtual Hogwarts has opened its doors, allowing you to take the courses you’ve always wanted to take – the ones that might actually be worth the cost of university:
“Charms, Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy, Herbology, History of Magic, and Transfiguration. The 9-week online courses feature homework assignment and quizzes. Students can also read digital textbooks, such as A Standard Book of Spells and A Beginner’s Guide to Transfiguration.”
