The good folks at Blastr have assembled a collection of retro cartoons, primarily staring Micky Mouse and Popeye that you can watch on YouTube (or just download). The 1953 animated version of Edgar Allen Poe’s ‘the Telltale Heart‘ is a particular favorite of mine, but you can check them all out for yourself.

Blastr has also collected 14 silent horror classics that you can watch for free. These are the first attempts at making movies scary. The list includes the 1896 production ‘the Haunted Castle’, a 1910 production of ‘Frankenstein’, the 1920 version of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, 1925’s the Phantom of the Opera and the first ever Vampire movie, Nosferatu.
