A poll on the New York Daily News website says that absolutely no one believes that it was an ‘accident’ but that is what Oklahoma’s Fox 25 is claiming. The station says that “operator error” is responsible for human evolution being absent from the premiere of Cosmos last Sunday night.

As you will see on the video below, just as host Neil deGrasse Tyson is getting to the part about the rise of humans, the show cuts out for a news promo. When the news promo ends, Cosmos returns but Tyson is already talking about modern man.

According to Slate, at least 5 schools in Oklahoma currently teach creationism as science and, according to the New York Daily News “Oklahoma is currently considering a law, SB 1765, that it sponsors say will help teachers encourage critical thinking in students when dealing with “scientific controversies,” including biological evolution, the chemical origins of life, global warming and human cloning.”
