Some Drones are Good: Footage from Much too Close to a Volcano

Drones get a bad rap. Sure, they are used to kill people, frequently the wrong people but that doesn’t mean that the technology itself is bad. One of the things they can do, aside from dropping bombs, is get very close to things that people can’t, like the Mount Yasur volcano in Vanuatu.

This footage was shot by Shaun O’Callaghan using a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter drone with a GoPro camera strapped on.
