Life, so far, has been an adventure. I was born in Topeka, Kansas in 1970 and moved around a lot but spent my teenage years in Southern California. After high school I was in and out of higher education out of economic necessity and being interested in too many things. I took numerous classes at the University of Kansas and several community colleges in theatre arts, history, political science, journalism, economics, and computer science. Eventually, while being a single father to two kids I got a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from the American College of Computer and Information Systems (ACCIS), an early online university that now appears to be defunct.
For most of the last decade, I was a stay-at-home dad to my daughter who started kindergarten and had it cut short by the Covid pandemic. She had some special needs, and was more comfortable going to school online so she and I, stayed there until this year.
Now, at 54 I find myself single again and looking for a few new adventures.
I know that the conventional wisdom says that writers on this platform are supposed to find a niche to write in but that doesn’t work for me. I am interested in too many things so I’ll fill the pages here with whatever captures my interest – which may or may not include politics, history, science, economics, music, film, TV, podcasts, audiobooks, myth, folklore and whatever else I think is interesting at any given moment.
